The Triangle Club, a peer-supported meeting place for people in recovery, has provided a safe place for those who acknowledge staying substance-free is of primary importance. Dawber served as executive director of York County Shelter Programs in Alfred, Maine, where, along with the county manager, district attorney and the county commissioners, he developed the Layman Way Recovery Center, a six-month residential addiction treatment center for men and women. It is the only program of its kind in Maine. Dawber previously was executive director of Serenity House in Portland. He holds a master's of education from Cambridge College in organizational development. "We are excited to embrace Bob's thoughtful, skilled and dedicated leadership to the Triangle Club as we continue to grow and to provide the community with this lifeline of recovery," said Sandra Jalbert, president of the Triangle Club board.... Learn more Alumni News Katy Ruderman [BS ‘19] has been hired as assistant coach of George Washington women's rowing. "When I heard that Katy was thinking about making the jump from high school to collegiate coaching, I knew I wanted her on my staff," Head Coach Marci Robles said. "Her extensive coaching experience, work ethic and passion for our sport made her the perfect fit for our program, and I am thrilled to have her here at GW." Ruderman joins the Colonials after nine years coaching at the junior and high school level. As the Program Director for Brookline High School Rowing, she oversaw the recruitment, training, racing and travel for both male and female athletes. She also served as the Varsity Boys Coach and fostered a highly competitive team with 20+ nationally-ranked boats during the past nine years, culminating with three boys boats competing at youth nationals in 2019, including her lightweight eight that placed sixth. Beyond coaching, Ruderman is on the race committee for the Head of the Charles. She was also a board member for the Massachusetts Public School Racing Association from 2013-18. Ruderman received her Bachelor of Science in Wellness & Health Promotion from Cambridge College in 2019.
